Was thinking about this during shower...
I think it's quite interesting to note that I could be at least among the top 20% if not 10% (or even 5%!!!) of the Singapore population in terms of running... Hmm... before you think that I'm boasting, think carefully again, or read on... Here's my analysis:

In my own batch (that is, those my age) I'm probably in the top 20%. Quite confident that I can surpass most girls in running, and possibly many guys too. When compared to those very much younger than me, I think I should be faster than at least 95% of them. Similarly, compared to the working population who are in their mid 20s, 30s and 40s, I'd probably be among the top 10%. Also, compared to the older people, I'm naturally faster than at least 99% of them, since I'm now in my prime age. So come to think of it, I could well be in the top 10% or even 5% of the whole population in terms of running. So even for girls around my age, probably you are at least the top 30-40% of the population, even if you have not run at all for the past 10yrs! ok that's exaggerating... make it 1 yr... =)

Though i agree it's not really that honorable a thing to boast about, it's actually quite interesting to think about it this way, especially when you are at your prime age. I mean how many times in a lifetime can you be in the top 5% in something you are capable of? Of cuz as you age, this will slowly fade. Perhaps then, you can think of how affluent u are or how successful you are compared to the rest of the population... hee hee~ esp when u compare to those still in sch or serving the nation in the army. Of cuz you are wealthier than them, even if they are SM Goh's grandgrandchildren or Steph Sun's kids. After all the $$ that they have belong to their wealthy parents or grandparents. It's not considered theirs. Ok, this is a ridiculous comparison. But nevertheless, one must admit that it's true. Maybe it's just an optimistic view that is good to have. At least when you think that you are a failure in everything, you still have something to be proud of. You are the top 5% in something!!! If you know how to play a musical instrument, play a sport like squash(even if you just started your first lesson, you are still better than the majority of the population who doesn't play it at all), or even sing a song, you are probably better than many of the others who do not engage in similar activities.

Yep, life is fair. It makes everyone is a winner. Even if you are a glutton, you're probably better off than many people, esp when there're so many dieters around. You can eat more than others. That's also a good skill right? ok, actually my justification is that you probably fare better in terms of your perception of life. Life is more than just keeping your weight. At least you know that you do not stress yourself in cases where u love to eat, you want to eat but yet must not eat. ok, i think this is getting too bias... dieters have their own justification and ideals too, which is also positive in a way. Perhaps I'm just saying about those extreme cases who torture themselves and force themselves to go on diet, ya those with Anerexia Nervosa. Even if you shit, you are also better than those who force themselves not to... ... ok, i shall shut up...

yep back to studies... *poof*
